Turks & Caicos Islands

Biography

The man before the case.

Michael Misick in a formal black suit, supporters with Turks & Caicos and Union flags behind him

Michael Misick grew up in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory of 46,000 people. He studied law at the University of Buckingham and was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn — one of the four Inns of Court in London. He entered the legislature in 1991 at the age of 25. In 2003, he led the PNP to a landslide victory and became Premier. During his tenure, he transformed the islands: tourism revenues grew dramatically, major resorts were developed, infrastructure was modernised, employment rose sharply.
